Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the influence of peer conformity and academic self-efficacy on student achievement motivation at SMPN 2 Geger Kabupaten Madiun, Madiun Regency. Achievement motivation is the basic driving force or impetus for someone to do something to achieve the desired goal. Student motivation at SMPN 2 Geger Kabupaten Madiun has decreased. As time progresses, students' learning motivation decreases with students' low interest in reading and lack of concern for the environment. The population used in this research was class VIII students at SMPN 2 Geger Kabupaten Madiun, totaling 150 students and the total sample used was 60 students with a sampling technique based on criteria. The research method used is quantitative with data analysis using data quality testing, hypothesis testing, multiple linear regression analysis and coefficient of determination testing. The calculation results show that the regression coefficient value of the peer conformity variable (X1) is 0.482 with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. The academic self-efficacy variable (X2) is 0.361 with a significance value of 0.012 <0.05. A positive coefficient value indicates that there is a positive relationship between peer conformity and academic self-efficacy on achievement motivation. This means that the peer conformity variable has a greater influence than the academic self-efficacy variable. The results of the research show that (1) peer conformity has a positive and significant effect on the achievement motivation of class VIII students at SMPN 2 Geger Kabupaten Madiun. This means that the greater the conformity relationship between peers, the higher the achievement motivation will be. (2) Academic self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on the achievement motivation of class VIII students at SMPN 2 Geger Kabupaten Madiun. This means that the higher the level of student academic self-efficacy, the higher the student's achievement motivation. (3) Academic self-efficacy and peer conformity have a significant effect on the achievement motivation of class VIII students at SMPN 2 Geger Kabupaten Madiun. This means that good peer conformity and high academic self-efficacy will increase the achievement motivation of class VIII students at SMPN 2 Geger Kabupaten Madiun. It is recommended that students maintain their abilities in school activities, academic activities and non-academic activities. Students can take part in positive activities such as group discussions, extracurricular activities and competitions and achievement events.
