"Improving the Quality of Learning Activities and Free Poetry Writing Skills Using Guided Practice Methods for Class IV Students at Prajegan 1 state elementary school, Ponorogo Regency, Academic Year 2023/2024." Thesis. Madiun: Magister Study Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate Program, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (1) Dr. Teguh Suharto, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Lulus Irawati, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Quality of Learning Activities and Free Poetry Writing Skills Using the Guided Practice Method. This research aims to improve the quality and skills of class IV grade students at Prajegan 1 state elementary school. Free poetry writing skills learning activities by using this research as classroom action research (PTK) carried out in two cycles involving 12 students (4 male students and 8 female students). with procedures including planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Each cycle consists of a series of learning activities focusing on group activities, discussions, interviews, and evaluations. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The data sources used are informants, events and documents. The informants in this research were class IV grade students at Prajegan 1 state elementary school. The events in this research were all forms of learning activities in the classroom. This research document is an Implementation Implementation Plan (RPP) and a list of values. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, tests and interviews. The results of this research are: First, the improvement in the process can be seen in the aspects of student activity in writing poetry, student attention or concentration, and student enthusiasm for learning poetry writing skills. This increase occurred gradually from pre-action, cycle I and cycle II. Second, the improvement in the results of poetry writing skills through the guided practice method can be seen from the students' work. In pre-action, the average student score was 72.08 with 8 students completing. In cycle I, the average student score rose to 76.25 with 10 students completing. Furthermore, in cycle II the average student score rose to 85.68 with 96.87% completeness or 12 student.
