Keywords: beginning reading, synthetic analytical structural, and picture and picture This research aims to (1) describe and explain the planning of the synthetic analytical structural method using the picture and picture learning technique for beginning reading for grade 2 students at SDN 2 Talun, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, (2) describe and explain the implementation of the synthetic analytical structural method using the picture learning technique and picture in the beginning reading of class 2 students at SDN 2 Talun, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, and (3) describe and explain the evaluation of the implementation of the synthetic analytical structural method with picture and picture learning techniques in the beginning reading of class 2 students at SDN 2 Talun, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research are (1) learning planning for synthetic analytical structural methods using picture and picture learning techniques for beginning reading for grade 2 students at SDN 2 Talun, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, using the complete syllabus and lesson plans made by the teacher. The teacher prepares appropriate materials, then prepares media, tools and materials, prepares work steps, student worksheets to measure the extent of understanding in learning, (2) implementation of synthetic analytical structural method learning with picture and picture learning techniques in beginning reading Grade 2 students at SDN 2 Talun, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency have three stages of activities, namely preliminary activities, core activities using the SAS (Synthetic Structural Analytical) method with the Picture and Picture technique in learning, and closing activities, and (3) structural method learning evaluation Synthetic analytics with picture and picture learning techniques for beginning reading for 2nd grade students at SDN 2 Talun, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, using two stages including: 1) Written tests (result tests) in the form of questions, short essays and working on questions, namely essays. ) or subjective with a limited description test and an objective form, namely the matching type, 2) Non-test (process test) is selected from the student's attitude during the learning process.
