Abstract

Burnout academic is a condition when a person feels emotional fatigue, physical fatigue, depersonalization/cynicism towards learning activities, and decreased motivation to learn so that they cannot complete their tasks properly. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of group guidance with art therapy techniques to reduce burnout academic in class XI students at SMAN 4 Madiun in the 2023/2024 school year. This type of research uses a quantitative experiment with a One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The population in this study was grade XI students of SMAN 4 Madiun which amounted to 260 students. The research sample was 6 students. This study used purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale model. Indicators of learning saturation are: 1) emotional fatigue 2) physical fatigue 3) depersonalization or cynicism towards learning activities 4) decreased motivation to learn. The test method used in this analysis is Wilcoxon test. The results of this study indicate that the pretest average score of 82% is in the very high category and the posttest average score of 49% is in the medium category. From the comparison of the average scores of the pretest and posttest, there was a significant change, namely a decrease in the average score by 33% after the service was provided. So it can be concluded that the application of group guidance with art therapy techniques is effective in reducing burnout academic in class XI SMAN 4 Madiun in the 2023/2024 academic year.
