Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) To determine whether there are differences in the use of PjBL and OASIS learning models on students' concept understanding. (2) To determine whether there is a difference in high and low initial ability on students' concept understanding. (3) To find out if there is an interaction between the PjBL and OASIS learning models with students' initial abilities on concept understanding. the research was carried out using an experimental method that used two classes, namely experimental class I and experimental class II. experimental class I was given treatment by providing the OASIS (Orientation Analysis Synthesis Investigation Synergy) learning method (A_1) while experimental class II would be treated using the PjBL (Project Based Learning) learning model (A_2). Experimental class I and experimental class II were measured for initial ability (B), so that the category of students who had high initial ability (B_1) and students who had moderate initial ability (B_2), low initial ability (B_3) was obtained. The sample of this study was class X MAN 2 Madiun as many as two classes, namely class X E and X F with the number of students in each class is 20 students. Data collection techniques using documentation and tests. Data analysis techniques using Anava test, post Anava test. The results of the study obtained (1) Based on the results of statistical description data, sig. 0.69 which means there is no difference in effectiveness between the OASIS and PjBL models on concept understanding, (2) Based on the results of statistical description data, the sig. 0.00 which means there is a difference in the effect of students' concept understanding on high and low initial abilities, (3) Based on the results of statistical description data, sig. 0.71 which means there is no interaction between the PjBL and OASIS models on student concept understanding.
