Abstract

The problem behind this project is that there are still many students who like modern food or western snacks such as pizza, nuggets, sausages, kenthuckies, and so on. This could happen due to the lack of distribution of traditional food in the school area. So students don't know about traditional food. Even students do not know or still lack knowledge about traditional food itself. One alternative that can be implemented to reduce students' love of western food or snacks is by introducing various types of traditional snacks to elementary school students using the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) learning model. This research aims to introduce various kinds of traditional food to grade 1 elementary school students through the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) learning model approach. This research was conducted on grade 1 students of SD Negeri 2 Glinggang, Sampung District, Ponorogo Regency with a total of 12 students. From the process during the implementation of activities that ran smoothly, in an orderly manner and the results of students' final reflections. Students are able to learn new things that can be applied in everyday life, namely being able to get to know various traditional snacks, being able to make their own traditional snacks, experiencing the fun of good collaboration with their friends, and students are able to appreciate other people's work. Judging from the results of students' final self-reflection, almost all students answered that they would preserve traditional food themselves by introducing traditional food to other people. Apart from that, students feel that they have gained new knowledge from this research process, just as students can make one of the traditional foods themselves.
