Reva Anggun Pangesti. 2024. Analysis of Indonesian Language Errors in Class V Students' narrative Essays. Thesis. Primary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) and Supervisor (II) The objectives of this research are 1.) to determine students' ability to write narrative essays for class V students at SDN 5 Baosan Kidul. 2) to find out the factors that cause difficulty in writing narrative essays for fifth grade students at SDN 5 Baosan Kidul. This research uses qualitative research. Qualitative research is a research process to understand human or social phenomena by creating a comprehensive and complex picture that can be presented in words and carried out in a natural setting. The subjects of this research were 19 fifth grade students who wrote narrative essays about holidays during school holidays. The data sources in this research are two primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques use interview and documentation techniques. The results of the research show that the essay writing ability of class V students at SDN 5 Baosan Kidul is divided into 2 categories regarding essay writing ability. The first category, namely 20%, is the number of students who have the ability to write essays in the underprivileged category. Students do not understand the material of the essay and are not able to write an essay with a good structure. The second category with a percentage of 50% is the percentage of students who have the ability to write essays in the very good category, then some students already understand the material of the essay and also the aspects of the essay. Some students already understand the material of the essay and also the aspects of the essay. Some students already understand the material from the essay aspect. However, this class V student made an essay using a simple composition, but in the results of analyzing the essay the students were still lacking in composing an essay using capital letters, punctuation, spelling and standard signs. When writing essays students have difficulty with spelling. The thing that becomes an obstacle when writing this narrative essay is that students are not yet able to understand all the material in the essay. It can be concluded that the essay writing ability of class V students at SDN 5 Baosan Kidul is categorized as good. Keywords: Error Analysis, Indonesian, Narrative Essay
