Keywords: writing, description, method, and artistic narrative This study aims to narrate and explain (1) the use of artistic narrative methods can improve the descriptive writing skills of fifth-grade students of Selosari State Elementary School, Magetan District, Magetan Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of Selosari State Elementary School, Magetan District, Magetan Regency in learning to write descriptions using artistic narrative methods. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are (1) the use of artistic narrative methods can improve the descriptive writing skills of fifth-grade students of Selosari State Elementary School, Magetan District, Magetan Regency. This is evidenced by the data from the results of research on student learning activities in cycle I and cycle II in participating in learning using artistic narrative learning methods experienced an increase. (2) The learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of Selosari State Elementary School, Magetan District, Magetan Regency in learning to write descriptions using artistic narrative methods show that the average value of the percentage of learning outcomes for descriptive writing skills in cycle I was 77.78% and in cycle II was 83.33% or an increase of 5.55%.
