Indonesian Master of Language and Literature Education Study Program, Post Graduate Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Advisor I) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hanif, M.M., M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Kodrat Eko Putro Setiawan, M.Pd Keywords: reading aloud, recitation method, and environmental media around the school This study aims to describe and explain (1) the use of recitation method assisted by environmental media around the school can improve the reading aloud skills of fifth grade students of Ploso State Elementary School, Ploso District, Jombang Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Ploso State Elementary School, Ploso District, Jombang Regency in learning to read aloud using recitation method assisted by environmental media around the school. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are (1) the use of recitation method assisted by environmental media around the school in learning to read aloud in fifth grade students of Ploso State Elementary School, Ploso District, Jombang Regency, it can be concluded that the value of teacher activity during managing learning using recitation method on reading aloud text material is 69.11% in the good category. Cycle II is 91.17% in the very good category. The value of student activity on the material of reading aloud text by applying the recitation method to improve students' reading aloud ability in cycle I was 77.94% with a good category, cycle II was 95.58% with a very good category, (2) the learning outcomes of class II students of Ploso State Elementary School, Ploso District, Jombang Regency using the recitation method assisted by environmental media around the school can improve students' reading aloud ability or students' learning completeness. This can be seen from the results of the analysis of 3 students who have not achieved completeness individually, while the number of students who have completed is 20 people with a percentage of 86.95% both individually and classically. Based on this analysis, students have achieved the KKM that has been set.
