Abstract
This research is motivated by the low creative writing skills of elementary school students and the suboptimal utilization of local wisdom and digital media in pedagogical practices. The purpose of this study is to describe the planning, implementation, and student responses to the utilization of digital media based on local wisdom in creative writing learning for grade VI students at SD Negeri 4 Botoputih, Trenggalek. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the classroom teacher, participatory observation during the learning process, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research results show three main findings. First, in the planning stage, the teacher began by identifying student needs and collecting sources of inspiration in the form of Trenggalek folklore and legends into digital formats, as well as designing three stages of activities: exploration, writing, and publication. Second, the implementation of the learning process took place with highly active interaction dynamics. The use of visual and audio stimuli successfully triggered students' imagination, the writing stage was supported by individual guidance and peer feedback, and it concluded with presentations and the displaying of works. Third, student responses were highly positive across affective, cognitive, and social aspects. Students showed high enthusiasm, found it easier to generate story ideas, produced better quality writing, and experienced a change in attitude, viewing writing activities as something enjoyable. In conclusion, the utilization of digital media integrated with local wisdom proved effective in enhancing the imagination, creativity, and writing motivation of elementary school students.
