Abstract

This research aims to describe the history of the Alas Ketonggo Srigati Site in Babadan Village, Paron Subdistrict, Ngawi Regency, and to evaluate its potential as a source of historical learning for Grade X students of Senior High School (SMA). This site has long been dominated by mystical narratives and klenik (occult) ritual practices, causing itseducationaland historicalvalueto remain academically underexplored. The study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive case study approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, passive-participant observation, and document study. Primary data were obtained from the site custodian (juru kunci), a local historian, and a history subject teacher, which were subsequently validated through source triangulation and historical criticism to carry out demythologization. The findings reveal that the Alas Ketonggo SrigatiSiteishistorically and narratively believed to haveserved asaresting point for the entourage of Prabu Brawijaya V during his flight toward Mount Lawu amid the collapse of the Majapahit Kingdom, a claim substantiated by geopolitical rationale as well as the functional logic of relics such as Watu Garuda and Sendang Drajat. The system of pamali (customary prohibitions) that has developed within the area is likewise shown to embody an underlying ecological rationality. This site demonstrates strong relevance to the Phase E History Learning Outcomes (Capaian Pembelajaran) and to the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) on the themeof LocalWisdom, and holdspotentialto beutilized asacomplementary learning resource grounded in Project-Based Learning for instructional material on the transition of civilization from Hindu-Buddhist to Islamic influence in the Indonesian Archipelago.
