Brilian Habib Pipo. 2026. Development of Pop-Up Book Media Based on Bojonegoro Local Culture to Enhance Literacy on Energy and Natural Resources Material. Thesis. Madiun: Master's Program in Elementary Education, Graduate School, PGRI University of Madiun. Supervisor (I) Dr. Jeffry Handhika, S.Si., M.Pd., M.Si., (II) Dr. Wasilatul Murtafiah, M.Pd.. Keywords: Pop-Up Book, Bojonegoro Local Culture, Learning Activities, Energy and Natural Resources, ADDIE. This research is motivated by the low scientific literacy skills of students and the limited availability of interactive learning media, which causes the learning process of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) on Energy and Natural Resources material to be conventional and monotonous. This research aims to: 1. Develop Pop-Up Book media based on Bojonegoro local culture on energy and natural resources material; 2. Determine the validity of Pop-Up Book media based on Bojonegoro local culture according to expert assessment; and 3. Determine the improvement in learning activities of fourth-grade elementary school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) by adapting the ADDIE development model. The research subjects were fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Kuniran II, Purwosari District, Bojonegoro Regency. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, questionnaires (expert validation and user responses), interviews, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The research results show that: Media Validity: The developed Pop-Up Book media obtained Very Valid criteria based on material expert validation results of 96%, language expert validation of 98.33%, and media expert validation of 97.33%. Media Practicality: Practicality testing of the media by educators obtained a score of 98% with Very Practical criteria. Students also gave positive responses to the readability and ease of use of the media. Learning Activities: The implementation of Pop-Up Book media based on Bojonegoro local culture is effective in increasing student engagement, as shown by the achievement of average student learning activities in the Very Good criteria (91% – 100%). Thus, the Pop-Up Book media based on Bojonegoro local culture is declared valid, practical, and effective for use in IPAS learning to enhance literacy and understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students.
