Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, has facilitated students in completing various academic tasks. However, the use of ChatGPT has also raised concerns regarding academic integrity and the influence of the social environment on usage behavior. This study aims to analyze the influence of academic dishonesty and peer conformity on the level of ChatGPT usage among final-year students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA). The study employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The population consisted of 220 students, with a sample of 142 respondents determined using Slovin's formula and proportionate stratified random sampling. Data collection was conducted via a Likert-scale questionnaire that met validity and reliability standards. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, prerequisite testing, and multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results indicate that academic dishonesty has a negative and significant effect on the level of ChatGPT usage, whereas peer conformity has a positive and significant effect on the level of ChatGPT usage.
