Abstract

This study aimed to develop the Digicomics learning media entitled “Pelangi Si Cahaya Ajaib” for teaching the properties of light to fifth-grade elementary school students and to determine the improvement in students’ understanding after using the media. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, expert validation, and pretest and posttest assessments. The improvement in students’ understanding was analyzed using the N-Gain score. The results showed that the average pretest score was 65.56, which increased to 81.11 in the posttest. The average N-Gain score was 0.46, indicating a moderate level of improvement. Therefore, the Digicomics learning media “Pelangi Si Cahaya Ajaib” can be used as an engaging learning medium to help improve fifth-grade students’ understanding of the properties of light.
