Abstract
ABSTRACT Sumarti. 2026. Analysis of Character Education Values in the Novel "Pertemuan Dua Hati" by Nh. Dini and Its Implementation in Indonesian Language and Literature Learning for Grade VI Students of SD Negeri Ngunut 1 Parang, Kabupaten Magetan. Thesis. Keywords: character education values, novel Pertemuan Dua Hati, language and literature learning, library research, elementary school This research is motivated by the fading of character values among students and the importance of utilizing literary works as a contextual medium for character cultivation. The objective is to analyze the character education values contained in the novel Pertemuan Dua Hati by Nh. Dini and to describe its implementation in Indonesian Language and Literature learning for grade VI elementary students. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with library research and document analysis. Data sources were the novel Pertemuan Dua Hati as well as curriculum and Indonesian language learning documents. Data were collected through reading and note-taking techniques, then analyzed interactively through data reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings reveal that this novel contains strong character education values, including: (1) religiosity and sincerity, (2) honesty and integrity, (3) hard work and perseverance, (4) affection and empathy, (5) simplicity, and (6) responsibility. These values are embodied through characters, dialogues, and conflicts experienced among characters. Its implementation in learning can be carried out through extensive reading activities, reflective discussions, character analysis, and writing critical responses linked to students' experiences. In conclusion, the novel Pertemuan Dua Hati is rich in character education values and is worthy as a meaningful alternative teaching material for strengthening student character in elementary schools.
