Abstract
Keywords: writing, personal experiences, mind maps, and photo media This study aims to describe (1) the use of the mind map method assisted by photo media can improve the ability to write personal experiences of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Jarak 1, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency and (2) the response of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Jarak 1, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency to learning to write personal experiences using the mind map method assisted by photo media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) Learning to write personal experiences using the mind map method assisted by photo media in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Jarak 1, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency has increased. The results of the first cycle obtained an average of 64.5 while the second cycle obtained an average value of 79.6, and (2) Student responses in learning to write personal experiences using the mind map method assisted by photo media in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Jarak 1, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency there is a change to a positive student response indicator.
