Abstract
This study aims to describe (1) the application of the chainwriting method assisted by image media can improve writing learning in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Bandung 1, Diwek District, Jombang Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Bandung 1, Diwek District, Jombang Regency in learning to write using the chainwriting method assisted by image media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are: (1) the application of the writing relay method can improve writing learning in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Bandung 1, Diwek District, Jombang Regency. This is proven in the second cycle, students are more active during the learning process, students pay attention to the teacher's explanation and have high enthusiasm and motivation in learning. The focus, activeness and enthusiasm of students are increasing because the teacher explains the material in an interesting way. The teacher explains the material while giving students games and giving jokes so that the classroom atmosphere is not tense and students are not tense in learning so that students increase their enthusiasm for learning, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Bandung 1 Elementary School, Diwek District, Jombang Regency, in learning to write using the chain writing method assisted by image media have increased. This is indicated by the fact that in cycle I, out of 6 students or 25% of students achieved learning mastery, while in cycle II, 22 students or 91.6% of students achieved learning mastery and classical learning mastery was achieved. The average value of cycle 1 was 52.21, categorized as incomplete. Meanwhile, in cycle 2, the average value was 84.71, categorized as complete.
