Abstract
Sawitri Budi Rahmawati. 2026. The Use Of Project Based Learning Model On Procedural Text Writing Skills For Sixth-Grade Students Of SD Negeri Pandeyan, Kabupaten Magetan. Thesis. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S, M.Pd. Keywords: Project Based Learning, procedural text, writing skills, case study, elementary school This research is motivated by the importance of procedural text writing skills for sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Pandeyan, Kabupaten Magetan; however, in practice, students still face difficulties in arranging steps systematically, using appropriate temporal conjunctions, and developing clear instructional sentences. The objective is to describe the use of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model and analyze its impact on students' procedural text writing skills. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects were sixth-grade students. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis of students' written works, then analyzed using interactive descriptive analysis. The findings reveal that the implementation of PjBL increased student activeness and motivation in writing. Students more easily organized procedural steps because they were linked to real projects, such as making crafts or cooking simple dishes, resulting in more structured, coherent, and comprehensible writing. The use of temporal conjunctions and technical vocabulary also improved. Students demonstrated good teamwork and a sense of responsibility for the projects produced. In conclusion, the Project Based Learning model is effective and can serve as an innovative approach to improving the quality of procedural text writing in elementary schools.
