Abstract
Nur Wijayati, 2026. Improving Teacher Performance in Conducting Learning Assessment through the Principal's Academic Supervision: A School Action Research at SDN Sukowidi 1, Panekan District, Magetan RegencyThesis. Madiun: Master Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Postgraduate Program, PGRI Madiun University. Advisor (I) Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, SS.,M.Pd ., (II) Dr. Kodrat Eko Putro Setiawan, M.Pd Keywords: Academic Supervision, Teacher Performance, Learning Evaluation, School Action Research This research is motivated by the crucial role of learning evaluation, which is frequently not implemented optimally by teachers, and the need to enhance the effectiveness of the principal's academic supervision. The primary field issues include teachers' low comprehension in formulating lesson plans, inconsistencies between teaching execution and lesson plans/learning modules, and weak mastery of student psychology, which hinders the achievement of classical minimum completeness criteria (KKM/KKTP) at 75%. This School Action Research (SAR) utilizes the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model design conducted in two structured action cycles. The action subjects in this study are teachers at SDN Sukowidi 1, Panekan District, Magetan Regency in the 2025/2026 academic year, with a total sample size of 8 teachers selected via total sampling technique. The investigated variables include the implementation of the principal's academic supervision as the independent variable, and the improvement of teacher performance in designing learning modules, executing classroom instruction, and compiling learning evaluations as the dependent variable. Data were gathered through nonparticipant observation tools for T eacher Performance Assessment (PKG), guided free interviews, and documentation studies, which were subsequently analyzed using Miles & Huberman's descriptive qualitative technique through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show a significant competence escalation from pre-cycle to the final cycle. In Cycle I, the teachers' average learning planning competence scored 48.57 (Fair) and teaching execution scored 57.90 (Good). Following intensive clinical supervision in Cycle II, planning performance sharply increased to 75.13 (Good) and teaching execution reached 77.08 (Very Good). The learning evaluation aspect also rose from 57.81 to 78.13 (Very Good), along with an increase in material mastery capability from an average of 78.02 to 88.03. These findings prove that the collaborative implementation of academic supervision successfully drives teacher professionalism to exceed the predetermined classical success indicators, achieving a minimum score of >= 3 with a completeness rate of 75%.
