Abstract

Career decision-making is an important developmental task for university students because it is closely related to their readiness to enter the workforce. Self-introspection based on the Javanese philosophy of mulat sarira and parental support are considered factors that may influence this process. This study aimed to analyze the influence of self-introspection based on the Javanese philosophy of mulat sarira and parental support on the career decision-making of students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The population consisted of 301 sixth-semester students, and a sample of 172 respondents was selected using simple random sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that met validity and reliability requirements and were analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 26. The results indicated that self-introspection based on the Javanese philosophy of mulat sarira (t = 17.303; p < 0.001) and parental support (t = 9.901; p < 0.001) had positive and significant effects on career decision-making. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced career decision-making with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.815. These findings indicate that self-introspection and parental support play important roles in improving students' career decision-making.
