Abstract
Science learning on the Solar System material in grade VI of elementary school still faces obstacles due to the limited use of learning media so that students have difficulty understanding abstract concepts. This condition has an impact on low student understanding so that audiovisual-based learning media are needed that are able to present the material in a more interesting, concrete, and easy to understand way. This study aims to identify learning problems on the Solar System material and develop audiovisual-based learning media using the ADDIE model. This research is a research and development (Research and Development/R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study was conducted at SDN Dempel 3 with 11 grade VI students as subjects. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study showed that the audiovisual-based learning media developed obtained a very valid category based on the results of expert validation, namely validation from language experts by 84%, validation from media experts by 96%, and validation from material experts also in the very valid category. In addition, the teacher and student responses to the use of media were in the very good category, while the evaluation results showed an average student score of 95.45 which indicated an increase in student understanding of the Solar System material. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the audiovisual-based learning media developed through the ADDIE model is declared valid, feasible, and effective for use in science learning on the Solar System material to improve the understanding of sixth grade elementary school students.
