Abstract
The main problem in the use of household electrical energy is the lack of public awareness in directly monitoring power consumption, which can lead to energy waste and increased electricity costs. As the number of electronic devices in homes continues to grow, a monitoring system capable of providing real-time power consumption information is needed so that users can manage energy more efficiently. This study aims to develop an ESP8266-based electrical power consumption monitoring system that can be accessed through the Blynk application on a smartphone. The system is also equipped with an automatic protection feature to prevent electrical overloads that may endanger household installations and electronic devices. The research method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, and development. The system was built by integrating main components such as the ESP8266, PZEM-004T sensor, LCD, and the Blynk application. The test results show that the system is capable of accurately monitoring voltage, current, power, and energy, and automatically disconnecting the current when an overload is detected. Validation by three experts indicates that the system is feasible for use, with an average feasibility score of 79%. In conclusion, this system is effective for real-time monitoring of household electricity consumption and provides intelligent and practical protection against overload conditions.
