Abstract
This study aims to determine whether: (1) the use of IT-based image media can improve students' skills in writing simple compositions in thematic learning containing Indonesian language for grade III students of SDN 1 Drenges, Kertosono District, Nganjuk Regency in the 2024/2025 Academic Year; and (2) the use of IT-based image media can improve the quality of students' activities during learning to write simple compositions for grade III students of SDN 1 Drenges, Kertosono District, Nganjuk Regency in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The research method used is Classroom Action Research. The data sources used are informants, events, and documents. Informants in this study were the principal, class teachers, and grade III students. Events in this study are all forms of learning activities in the classroom. Documents in this study are lesson plans, IT-based image media, syllabus, and grade lists. Data collection techniques use tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data validity uses triangulation methods with sources. The results of the study show that there is an increase in students' skills in writing simple compositions by utilizing IT-based image media. The use of IT-based image media can also improve the quality of student activities during learning, including student readiness to participate in learning, actively responding to teacher explanations/questions, paying attention to the image media presented, student participation in group work, and student attitudes during learning.
