Tri Purnomo. 2026. The Use of Mind Mapping Method Assisted by Regional Songs to Improve Nonfiction Text Summarization Skills in Grade VI at SD Negeri Miyono 2, Sekar District, Bojonegoro Regency. Thesis. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hanif, MM., M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Kodrat Eko Putro Setiawan, M.Pd. Keywords: Mind Mapping, Regional Songs, Summarization Skills, Nonfiction Texts. This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of the mind mapping method assisted by regional songs in teaching nonfiction text summarization to Grade VI students at SD Negeri Miyono 2, Sekar District, Bojonegoro Regency; (2) to determine the improvement in the ability to summarize non-fiction skills of Grade VI students at SD Negeri Miyono 2 through the use of the mind mapping method assisted by regional songs. This research was conducted using a classroom action research design. The research stages were arranged from the pre-cycle stage, Cycle I, to Cycle II. The research subjects were Grade VI students selected based on certain considerations. The results indicate that: (1) the implementation of the mind mapping method assisted by regional songs in teaching successfully enhanced students’ skills in organizing information from nonfiction texts; (2) the application of this method in summarizing nonfiction texts significantly improved the abilities of Grade VI students at SD Negeri Miyono 2. Students were able to identify main and supporting ideas more accurately, arrange information logically, and write clear, concise, and easily understandable summaries.
