Keywords: writing, narrative, strategies, and guided activities This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of guided activity strategies in improving the narrative writing skills of fifth grade students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency in narrative writing learning using guided activity strategies. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the application of guided activity strategies in improving the narrative writing skills of fifth grade students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency. The average value data for each aspect of narrative writing skills are (1) the ability to determine the topic of the essay with an average value of 10%, (2) the ability to determine the title of the essay with an average value of 10%, (3) the ability to develop an essay framework with an average value of 27.5%, and (4) the ability to write an essay with an average value of 34.37%. Where the average combined value of all aspects of writing ability from the range of 0-100% has reached 81.87%, and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write narratives using guided activity strategies have increased. This is proven by the final test of writing essays carried out by the teacher in accordance with student learning achievements. The success of the test can be seen from the average test of cycle I with good qualifications (average value of 69.37), cycle II with very good qualifications (average value of 81.87).
