Abstract
This study aims to describe (1) the implementation of audiovisual media using the Quantum Teaching method in improving the creative text writing skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Ngliman, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of students after participating in creative text writing activities using audiovisual media integrated with the Quantum Teaching model. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consisted of two cycles. The results of the study indicate that (1) the implementation of audiovisual media through the Quantum Teaching model successfully enhanced the learning process of creative text writing. This improvement was reflected in students’ behavior during classroom activities. The use of audiovisual media was able to stimulate students’ imagination and engagement, leading to better creative writing performance. In Cycle I, students’ participation in responding and answering teachers’ questions was relatively low due to limited confidence and insufficient understanding of the material. In Cycle II, students’ activeness increased significantly and fell into the “very good” category. Students showed better responses, were more confident in answering questions, and were highly active in completing assigned tasks. (2) Students’ learning outcomes in creative text writing also improved. The average score increased from 64.2 in Cycle I, with 20% mastery in the “adequate” category, to 90.6 in Cycle II, with 92% mastery in the “very good” category. Overall, there was a 72% improvement from Cycle I to Cycle II. These findings demonstrate that the Quantum Teaching model supported by audiovisual media is effective in improving the creative text writing skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Ngliman.
