Improving Speaking and Writing Skills through the Role-Playing Learning Model Assisted by Word Card Media for Fourth-Grade Students of SD Negeri Kutuwetan, Jetis District, Ponorogo Regency, Academic Year 2025/2026. Master’s Thesis. Master’s Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, S.Pd., M.Pd. This classroom action research aimed to improve students’ speaking and writing skills through the implementation of a role-playing learning model assisted by word card media for fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Kutuwetan, Jetis District, Ponorogo Regency, in the 2025/2026 academic year. The main problem identified in Indonesian language learning was the students’ low ability to express ideas orally and in written form. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed that the application of the role-playing model assisted by word card media increased students’ activeness, confidence, and ability in speaking and writing. In Cycle I, the average speaking skill score reached 72.5 and the writing skill score was 70.2. In Cycle II, the scores increased to 84.3 for speaking skills and 83.1 for writing skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the role-playing learning model assisted by word card media is effective in improving the speaking and writing skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Kutuwetan.
