Abstract

The Use of Persuasive Language in Outdoor Media in Kabupaten Madiun and Its Implications for Indonesian Language Learning of Advertising Texts for Fifth-Grade Students of SD Negeri Lembah 02, Kecamatan Dolopo, Kabupaten Madiun. Thesis. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Graduate School of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Jeffry Handhika, M.Pd. Supervisor II: Dwi Rosita Sari, PhD. Keywords: Persuasive Language, Outdoor Media, Advertising Copy This study aims to: (1) describe the forms of persuasive language used in outdoor media in Kabupaten Madiun; (2) describe the linguistic characteristics found in such outdoor advertising media; and (3) describe the implications of the use of persuasive language for the learning of advertising texts in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Lembah 02, Kecamatan Dolopo, Kabupaten Madiun. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data analysis was conducted using interactive analysis. The results show that: (1) the use of persuasive language in outdoor media in Kabupaten Madiun presents various forms of communication strategies, including invitations, appeals, imperative sentences, rhetorical questions, and the use of diction emphasizing benefits and urgency; (2) understanding these characteristics helps students recognize the function of language in shaping readers’ perceptions; and (3) the use of persuasive language in outdoor advertising media has a significant influence on the learning of advertising texts for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Lembah 02, Kecamatan Dolopo, Kabupaten Madiun..
