Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe how the application of guided synectic learning based on the environment can improve the poetry writing skills of fifth�grade students at SD Negeri 01 Manisrejo in Madiun City; (2) Describe how the application of guided synectic learning based on the environment can foster an attitude of caring for the environment among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 01 Manisrejo in Madiun City. This study is a classroom action research. The research stages were arranged from the pre-cycle stage, cycle I, to cycle II. The research subjects were all fifth-grade students. The results showed that: (1) The application of guided synectic learning based on the environment in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 01 Manisrejo proved to be effective in improving their poetry writing skills; (2) In addition to improving writing skills, the application of this method also succeeded in fostering an attitude of caring for the environment in students.
