Abstract
Imam Safi’i. 2025. Indonesian Language Learning Based on Local Wisdom for Sixth Grade Students of SD Negeri 4 Banjar, Panggul District, Trenggalek Regency. Thesis. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Graduate School of PGRI University of Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: local wisdom, Indonesian language learning, elementary school. This study aims to describe Indonesian language learning based on local wisdom for sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Banjar, Panggul District, Trenggalek Regency, as well as its impact on students’ learning outcomes and character development. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subjects were the teacher and sixth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that learning was implemented by integrating local culture, such as folklore, traditions, and community practices, into the learning materials. The strategies used included discussion, reading, and writing activities based on the surrounding environment. This learning approach increased students’ learning interest, understanding of the material, and fostered a sense of love for local culture. The conclusion of this study is that Indonesian language learning based on local wisdom is effective in improving the quality of learning and shaping students’ character.
