Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the role play learning model and the cooperative learning model on students’ vocabulary mastery and Indonesian speaking skills. This research employed an experimental research method. Inferential analysis was conducted using MANOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Variance). The results of the study indicate that: (1) there is a significant effect of the learning model on vocabulary mastery and Indonesian speaking skills of students at SD Negeri 3 Putren in a multivariate manner. This is evidenced by a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05 and an F value of 20.76. This indicates a significant difference in the mean scores of vocabulary mastery and Indonesian speaking skills between students taught using the role play model and those taught using the cooperative learning model. (2) There is a significant effect of the learning model on students’ vocabulary mastery at SD Negeri 3 Putren, as indicated by a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05 and an F value of 16.04. This shows a significant difference in the mean vocabulary mastery of students taught using the role play model and the cooperative learning model. (3) There is a significant effect of the learning model on students’ Indonesian speaking skills at SD Negeri 3 Putren, as indicated by a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05 and an F value of 23.87. This indicates a significant difference in the mean Indonesian speaking skills of students taught using the role play and cooperative learning models. The implication of this study is that, in improving students’ vocabulary mastery and Indonesian speaking skills, the role play learning model is more effective than the cooperative learning model. In addition, more effective teaching approaches can increase students’ enthusiasm for learning, and adequate school facilities and infrastructure support can contribute to better learning outcomes.
