ABSTRACT Rulik Andriati. 2025. Improving Beginning Reading Skills Using Letter Card Media in Class II Students of SDN 2 Loceret, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency. Theses. Keywords: reading, starters, media, and letter cards This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of letter card media in learning to read beginning class II students at SDN 2 Loceret, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of class II students at SDN 2 Loceret, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency in learning beginning reading using media. letter card. This research is classroom action research using three cycles. The results of this research are (1) the application of letter card media can improve initial reading learning. This is proven by the increase in teacher activity at SDN 2 Loceret, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency. In the implementation of cycle I the average value of teacher activity obtained was 3.25, then in the implementation of cycle II the average value of teacher activity increased to 3.5 and in the implementation of cycle III the average value of teacher activity was obtained, namely 3.6. Student activity during learning using letter card media has increased. In cycle I the average value of student activity was 3.4. In cycle II the average value of student activity was 3.54 and in cycle III the average value of student activity was 3.57. Student activity in the learning process using letter card media increased each cycle as expected and (2 Student learning outcomes increased each cycle. In the implementation of the first cycle learning process there were 5 students who achieved the KKM, and an average score of 60.45 was obtained with percentage 45.45%. In the implementation of cycle II there were 7 students who achieved the KKM with an average score of 71.36 with a percentage of 63.63% and in the implementation of cycle III there were 10 students who achieved the KKM with a score average 74.09 with a percentage of 90.90%.
