Abstract
ABSTRACT Aris Setiawan. 2025. Improving Procedural Text Writing Skills Using the Demonstration Method Assisted by Audiovisual Media for Fourth-Grade Students of SD Negeri 1 Baosan Kidul, Ngrayun District, Ponorogo Regency, Academic Year 2024-2025. Thesis. Master's Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Dr. V. Teguh Suharto, M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Lulus Irawati, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Procedural Text, Demonstration, Audiovisual This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the demonstration method assisted by audiovisual media in improving the procedural text writing skills of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Baosan Kidul. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with qualitative and quantitative approaches, implemented in two cycles. The research subjects were 26 fourth-grade students whose procedural text writing skills were still relatively low. Data collection techniques included observation, written tests, and documentation. The results showed that the audiovisual-assisted demonstration method significantly improved students' writing skills. In Cycle I, the average student score was 67.5, with a student activity percentage of 65.3%. After improvements in Cycle II, the average score increased to 88.8, and the student activity percentage reached 95.3%. Teacher achievement also increased from 92.1% in Cycle I to 98.7% in Cycle II. This improvement demonstrates that an interactive, audiovisual-based learning approach can create a conducive learning environment and improve student learning outcomes. The implication of this study is the importance of using the audiovisual-assisted demonstration method in Indonesian language learning, particularly in procedural text writing skills. Teachers are advised to continue developing a student-centered learning approach and utilizing engaging learning media to increase student participation and learning outcomes.
