Keywords: writing, descriptive essays, and caricature drawings This study aims to describe and explain (1) the use of caricature image media can improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of Padas Elementary School, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency, and (2) the activities of fourth-grade students of Padas Elementary School, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency in compiling descriptive paragraphs with caricature image media. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are (1) the application of caricature image media can improve learning to write descriptive paragraphs in fourth-grade students of Padas Elementary School, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency. This is proven by the caricature media being able to improve students' abilities in writing descriptive paragraphs. The average value of students' writing abilities increased from 65.5 in cycle I to 79 in cycle II. The results of student learning in learning to write descriptive paragraphs using caricature images as media for fourth-grade students at Padas Elementary School, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency are in the complete category, and (2) Student activity in learning to write descriptive paragraphs using caricature images as media for fourth-grade students at Padas Elementary School, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency has increased from cycle I to cycle II. This proves that caricature images can increase student activity in writing descriptive paragraphs.
