Yuli Astutik. 2025. Improving Poetry Reading Skills Using Learning Videos for Class V Students at SDN Serag, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency.Theses. Indonesian Master of Language and Literature Education Study Program, Post Graduate Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Advisor I) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S, M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M.Pd. Keywords : reading, poetry, media and learning videos This research aims to describe and explain (1) the use of learning videos can improve the poetry reading skills of fifth grade students at SDN Serag, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SDN Serag, Pulung District, Ponorogo District in learning to read poetry using instructional videos.This research uses a type of classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this research are (1) learning videos are a medium that can be used in the learning process to increase student activity, especially in learning to read student poetry. This is proven by the results of observations which show a change in student activities towards being more active, so that learning becomes meaningful, the final results of student activities are very good. The results of the student questionnaire in cycle I were that students were still not confident enough to fill out the questionnaire, in cycle II students started to fill it out themselves without looking at their friends, and in cycle III students filled in the questionnaire themselves without hesitation. Learning videos are also a medium that can be used in the learning process to increase teacher activity. This can be seen in cycle I, the teacher's activities are included in good criteria, while in cycle II it is included in very good criteria, as well as cycle III, and (2) The results of learning students' poetry reading skills using learning videos in cycle I have not classically achieved individual learning completeness. In cycle II there was an increase in the average and achieving complete learning individually as well as in cycle III.
