Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain (1) the implementation of learning to write descriptive paragraphs using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method with visual media for class V students at SD Negeri 1 Sendang, Jambon District, Ponorogo Regency, and (2) assessment of learning to write descriptive paragraphs using the method Cooperative Integrated reading and Composition (CIRC) with visual media for class V students at SD Negeri 1 Sendang, Jambon District, Ponorogo Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The technique used to analyze data in this research is the interactive model from Miles and Huberman. The results of this research, namely (1) the implementation of learning to write descriptive paragraphs using the cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) method with visual media in class V students at SD Negeri 1 Sendang, Jambon District, Ponorogo Regency, has gone as planned, namely learning that is fun and takes place as planned. It is hoped that it will be good and conducive, because the teacher uses the CIRC method appropriately and the teacher uses language that is easy for students to understand, and 2) student grades will be better. This is proven by the increase in student scores which shows that the scores before and after the CIRC learning method is applied are very different. Student scores when the CIRC method is implemented can get a score above the KKM or average for Indonesian language subjects, namely 75, in fact the student's score is classified as very satisfactory and exceeds the score before the CIRC method was implemented.
