Abstract
Writing a thesis is one of the final stages in higher education, requiring students to demonstrate critical, analytical, and systematic thinking skills. However, in reality, many students experience obstacles, one of which is academic procrastination. Academic procrastination is the act of delaying academic obligations. This study aims to describe the academic procrastination experienced by Guidance and Counseling students in writing their theses at Universitas PGRI Madiun. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The subjects were five final-semester students who exhibited symptoms of academic procrastination. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that factors causing academic procrastination include internal factors such as lack of motivation, low self-efficacy, poor time management, and a tendency to choose other, more enjoyable activities. External factors include the burden of off-campus activities, the social environment, and digital distractions. The impacts of this procrastination include stress, anxiety, delayed thesis completion, and a decline in the quality of written work.
