Abstract
Nadya Tyar Pramesti. 2025. "Internet Quota Purchase Decision for Social and Economic Welfare of Farming Families in Pilangkenceng Village, Madiun Regency". Thesis. Economic Education Study Program, FKIP, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisor: Dr. Novita Erliana Sari, M. Pd. Co-Advisor: Maretha Berlianantiya, S.Pd., M.Si. Key Terms : Internet Quota, Farming Families, Social Welfare, Economic Welfare. The development of information and communication technology has now penetrated into rural areas, including among farming families. In the midst of the limited economic conditions of farming families, questions arise about how they decide to allocate part of their expenses to buy internet quotas, and to what extent these decisions impact their social and economic lives. This study aims to determine how farming families in Pilangkenceng Village choose to buy internet quotas and how this impacts their families' social and economic welfare. This study focuses on the priorities of family financial expenditures, factors that influence decisions to buy internet quotas, the role of internet quotas in children's education, and the impact of decisions to buy internet quotas on the social and economic lives of farming families. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews with 6 informants, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and their validity was tested through technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that purchasing internet quotas has become part of the routine expenses of farming families, especially to support children's education and communication in farmer groups. Factors that influence purchasing decisions include educational needs, access to agricultural information, communication efficiency, and the influence of the social environment. The use of the internet has a positive impact on children's education, they become more independent and open to new information thanks to internet access. From a social perspective, the use of the internet has strengthened communication between members of farmer groups through WhatsApp groups. Agricultural information such as the selling price of agricultural products, the availability of fertilizers, or agricultural training is easier to access, while from an economic perspective the internet provides opportunities to sell agricultural products online or get wider market information, although not all families have felt it.
