Abstract
Frequent tripping or short circuits in home circuit breakers (MCBs) can be extremely dangerous if not addressed promptly and properly. The damage caused includes damage to the safety system such as the MCB and can even spread to electronic devices in the home. The resulting impacts are also highly detrimental. This study aims to protect against tripping or short circuits in residential MCBs, which can also be monitored using an LCD to determine the electricity usage by household users. Therefore, this study was conducted with the title “Implementation of Arduino Uno in an Overcurrent and Overvoltage Protection Prototype with LCD Monitoring.” The research method used was the Research and Development (RnD) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of this prototype are an overcurrent and overvoltage protection prototype with LCD monitoring that can read and display incoming current and voltage and provide an audible warning signal if the predetermined limits are exceeded. The prototype was tested through 8 experiments, which were directly evaluated and validated by 5 experts and 5 community responses. The first expert validation yielded a total score of 89%, the second validation scored 82%, the third validation scored 81%, the fourth validation scored 86%, and the fifth validation scored 86%. These scores indicate that the prototype falls into the “acceptable” category. The public response also provided scores: the first public response scored 90%, the second scored 86%, the third scored 88%, the fourth scored 88%, and the fifth scored 88%. It can be concluded again that the scores provided by the public response fall into the “acceptable” category.
