Abstract
This study aims to describe the improvement of students' learning interest and learning outcomes in writing advice pantun (pantun nasihat) using modified snakes and ladders learning media among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Kedungdowo Ploso Jombang. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, involving 24 fifth-grade students (7 males and 17 females) as research subjects. Data were collected through writing performance tests, learning interest questionnaires, classroom observations, and documentation. The findings revealed significant enhancements in both learning interest and learning outcomes across cycles. In the pre-cycle phase, the average learning interest score was only 38% (low category), with an average learning outcome score of 59.0 and a classical completeness rate of 33.33% (8 students). Following the intervention in Cycle I, student learning interest increased to 66% (medium category), the class average score rose to 70.5, and classical completeness reached 62.50% (15 students). Optimal achievement was obtained in Cycle II, where the learning interest percentage reached 88% (very high category), the class average score jumped to 83.0, and classical completeness climbed to 87.50% (21 students). Consequently, it can be concluded that the implementation of modified snakes and ladders learning media combined with Smart Rhyme Cards effectively enhances students' learning interest and writing learning outcomes in advice pantun at the elementary school level.
