Abstract
This study aims to describe the realization of forms, pragmatic functions, and delivery strategies of directive speech acts in Raditya Dika's podcast, the Cerita dari Ruang IGD series. This research offers novelty compared to previous studies because it integrates the analysis of forms, pragmatic functions, and delivery strategies of directive speech acts within a single framework applied to a health-education-themed podcast, while also comparing the use of speech acts based on the communicative roles of the host and the resource person. The study employs a qualitative descriptive-interpretive approach with a pragmatic perspective. The analysis is based on Searle's (1969) theory of directive speech acts combined with Wijana's (1996) speech-act delivery strategies. The data source consists of two episodes of the podcast Cerita dari Ruang IGD, Parts 1 and 2, with a total duration of 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 11 seconds. The research corpus consists of 385 utterance units transcribed verbatim, from which 86 directive utterances were identified as the primary data, while 72 utterances produced directly by Raditya Dika and dr. Gia Pratama were analyzed for their pragmatic functions and delivery strategies. The results show that the forms of directive speech acts found include questioning, requesting, ordering, suggesting, prohibiting, inviting, permitting (permissive), and mixed forms. The most dominant form is questioning (47.7%), reflecting the character of the podcast as a dialogic medium for gathering information. The most dominant pragmatic function is obtaining information and encouraging the resource person to continue their explanation, while the most dominant delivery strategy is the direct strategy (84.9%). The findings indicate that the use of directive speech acts is influenced by the communicative roles of the speakers and the interactional context within digital communication. This research has implications for the development of pragmatic studies, particularly directive speech acts in digital media, and it can be used as a learning resource for pragmatics and spoken communication in Indonesian language instruction.
