Abstract
Students who excel academically and non-academically posses self-management skills, enabling them to effectively manage both types of activities and achieve optimal results. This study aims: (1). To describe the self-management of high-achieving students (in both academic and non-academic areas) within the learning process in classes VIII A, VIII B an VIII C at SMP Negeri 6 Madiun. (2). To describe the self-management outcomes of high-achieving students (in both academis and non-academis areas) within the learning processes of classes VIII A, VIII B and VIII C at SMP Negeri 6 Madiun. This a descriptive study employing a qualitative approach and a case study (phenomenological) design. The research subjects consisted of 14 students who demonstrated academis and non academis achievements. Primary data collection techniques were utilized. Research instruments included questionaires, in-dept semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted using an inductive approach, comprising data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through methodological triangulation: utilizing interviews, observations and documents, with across multipe sources. Research the self-management process of high-achieving students encompasses three dimension: independence, self-regulated learning, and time management. These students demonstrate a good level of independence. Regarding self-regulated learning, they employ a combination of strategies, monitoring and follow up actions and motivation. They have properly time management. The outcomes of this self-management are reflected in the students’ character and achievements. Key characteristics include academic aptitude, leadership skills, and creativity. Academic performance is rated as good, with some students achieving excellent driven by strong motivation. Furthermore, the students produce learning presentations that are conceptually accurate, systematically structured and creative. Non-academic achievements include winning competitions at level ranging from the school to the national stage, become the group leader and becoming an organizational activist.
