This research is motivated by the importance of facilitating diverse student learning needs to improve reading comprehension skills in elementary schools. This study aims to describe the implementation of differentiated learning and analyze its impact on student responses as well as the ability to understand simple story texts in the fifth grade of SDN Mangge 2. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 9 fifth-grade students at SDN Mangge 2. Data were collected through observations of learning implementation, student response questionnaires, and comprehension tests on simple story texts, which were then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of the study indicated a significant increase from Cycle I to Cycle II. The successful implementation of differentiated learning increased from 72.5% in Cycle I to 88.0% in Cycle II. This improvement was accompanied by positive student responses, which rose from 64% in Cycle I to 85.5% in Cycle II. In line with these findings, students' ability to understand simple story texts also underwent a substantial increase, improving from an average of 64% in Cycle I to 84% in Cycle II. The study concludes that the implementation of differentiated learning is proven to be effective in improving the learning process, student active response, and the ability to understand simple story texts for students at SDN Mangge 2.
