Indonesian Master of Language and Literature Education Study Program, Post Graduate Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Advisor I) Prof. Dr. Bambang Eko Hari Cahyono, M.Pd.,.; (II) Dr. Edy Suprapto, S.Si., M.Pd Keywords: writing, personal experience, mind maps, and image media This study aims to describe (1) the use of mind mapping method assisted by image media can improve the ability to write personal experiences of fifth grade students of Menganto State Elementary School, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency and (2) the response of fifth grade students of Menganto State Elementary School, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency to learning to write personal experiences using the mind mapping method assisted by image media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) Learning to write personal experiences using the mind mapping method assisted by image media in fifth grade students of Menganto State Elementary School, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency has increased. The results of the first cycle obtained an average of 64.5 while the second cycle obtained an average value of 79.6, and (2) Student responses in learning to write personal experiences using the mind mapping method assisted by image media in fifth grade students of Menganto State Elementary School, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency there is a change to a positive student response indicator.
