Abstract

Improving Descriptive Writing Skills Using Procedural Writing Techniques Assisted by Photo Media in Fifth Grade Students of Sukopinggir Elementary School, Gudo District, Jombang Regency. Thesis. Keywords: writing, description, procedural writing techniques, and photo media This study aims to describe (1) the application of procedural writing techniques assisted by photo media can improve writing learning in fifth grade students of Sukopinggir State Elementary School, Gudo District, Jombang Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Sukopinggir State Elementary School, Gudo District, Jombang Regency in learning to write using procedural writing techniques assisted by photo media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are: (1) the application of procedural writing techniques can improve writing learning in fifth grade students of Sukopinggir State Elementary School, Gudo District, Jombang Regency. This is proven in cycle II students are more active during the learning process, students pay attention to the teacher's explanation and have high enthusiasm and motivation in learning. Students' focus, activeness and enthusiasm are increased because the teacher explains the material in an interesting way. The teacher explains the material while giving games to students and giving jokes so that the class atmosphere is not tense and students are not tense in learning so that students are more enthusiastic about learning, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Sukopinggir State Elementary School, Gudo District, Jombang Regency in learning to write using procedural writing techniques assisted by photo media have increased. This is indicated by the fact that in cycle I, out of 6 students or 25% of students achieved learning completion, while in cycle II, as many as 22 students or 91.6% of students achieved learning completion and classical learning completion was achieved. The average value of cycle 1 was 52.21 with the incomplete category. While in cycle 2, the average value was 84.71 with the complete category.
