Abstract
This study aimed to improve the participation and critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 01 Taman, Madiun City, in Science and Social Studies learning through the implementation of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) model assisted by digital media. The study was motivated by students' low participation and inadequate critical thinking skills during classroom learning. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 28 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the TAI model assisted by digital media effectively improved students' participation and critical thinking skills. Student participation increased from 71.43% in Cycle I to 92.86% in Cycle II, while mastery of critical thinking skills improved from 64.29% to 89.29%. Teacher and student learning activities also improved and reached the very good category. Therefore, the Team Assisted Individualization model assisted by digital media was proven effective in enhancing students' participation and critical thinking skills in Science and Social Studies learning.
