Abstract
Devi Rahmawati Purnama Sari. 2026. Teachers' Strategies for Improving the Speaking Skills of Group B Children at Santo Bavo Catholic Kindergarten, Madiun City. Undergraduate Thesis. Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Dr. Fida Chasanatun, M.Pd., (II) Hermawati Dwi Susari, S.Psi., M.Pd. This study employs a qualitative research method with a survey approach. The research subjects were teachers and Group B children at Santo Bavo Catholic Kindergarten, Madiun City. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The research results indicate that the strategies employed by teachers to enhance the speaking skills of Group B children were: 1) A "news-sharing" strategy using hand puppets and pictures to foster the children's confidence in speaking; 2) A role-playing strategy that provided opportunities for children to engage in dialogue according to their roles, thereby training their comprehension and confidence; and 3) A question-and-answer strategy implemented during activities to encourage children to actively ask and answer questions. These three strategies proved effective in improving the children's speaking abilities, making them more fluent, confident, and willing to express their opinions.
