The Implementation of the Synthetic Analytic Structural Method Using Picture and Picture Media in Beginning Reading for First-Grade Students at SDN Pupus 2, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency. Thesis. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Postgraduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisor (I) Dr. Elva Nuraina, M.Si., Advisor (II) Dr. Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: beginning reading, synthetic analytic structural, picture and picture media This study aims to (1) describe and explain the planning of the synthetic analytic structural (SAS) method using picture and picture media in beginning reading for first-grade students at SD Negeri Pupus 2, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, (2) describe and explain the implementation of the SAS method using picture and picture media in beginning reading for first-grade students at SD Negeri Pupus 2, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, and (3) describe and explain the evaluation of the SAS method using picture and picture media in beginning reading for first-grade students at SD Negeri Pupus 2, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that (1) the lesson planning for the SAS method using picture and picture media in beginning reading for first-grade students at SD Negeri Pupus 2, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, fully utilized the Learning Progression (ATP) and Teaching Modules (Modul Ajar) developed by the teacher. The teacher prepared appropriate materials, media, tools, materials, work steps, and student worksheets to measure comprehension during the learning process; (2) the implementation of the SAS method using picture and picture media consisted of three stages: introductory activities, core activities utilizing the SAS method with picture and picture media, and closing activities; and (3) the learning of the of the learning synthetic analytic structural method using picture and picture media on beginning reading of 1st-grade students at SD Negeri Pupus 2, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, utilizes two stages: 1) Written tests (summative evaluation) consisting of short-answer and essay or subjective questions with restricted response formats, as well as objective fill-in-the-blank questions; 2) Non-tests (formative evaluation) based on students' attitudes and behavior throughout the learning proces
