Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students’ ability to appreciate figures of speech, learning motivation, and learning outcomes through the utilization of the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP). The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 21 sixth-grade students of SD Negeri Sambirembe, Karangrejo, Magetan. Data were collected through observation, tests, documentation, and questionnaires, and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that the use of the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) improved students’ ability to appreciate figures of speech, learning motivation, and learning outcomes. The average score increased from 65.00 in the pre-action stage to 77.00 in Cycle I and 86.00 in Cycle II. Learning mastery improved from 40% to 71% and reached 91% in Cycle II. Students’ learning motivation also increased, as indicated by greater attention, participation, collaboration, and enthusiasm during the learning process. In conclusion, the utilization of the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) was effective in improving the ability to appreciate figures of speech and enhancing the learning motivation of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Sambirembe, Karangrejo, Magetan. This learning media created a more interactive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment, making it a suitable alternative instructional medium for Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
