Data were collected through explanatory text writing skill tests and student learning activity observation sheets, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by animated video media was proven effective in improving students' explanatory text writing skills. The students' average score increased from 66 in the initial condition to 75 in Cycle I, and further rose to 86 in Cycle II, representing a total improvement of 20 points or 30%. Classical completeness also improved from 35% to 59% in Cycle I and reached 88% in Cycle II. Furthermore, student learning activity showed positive progress, rising from 65% (Good category) in Cycle I to 89% (Very Good category) in Cycle II an increase of 24%. Therefore, the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by animated video media was able to improve students' explanatory text writing skills and creating excellent learning activities for Grade VI students at SD Negeri Krowe 1, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, in the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
